Is RiftPets free?

Yes. RiftPets is planned as a free to play game, and your first egg is free. Breeding is free too. Joining the waitlist costs nothing, and we will only email you when your invite is ready.

When is the beta?

We do not have a public date yet. The beta is closed and invites go out in waves, starting with the waitlist in order. Join the list and we will email you when it is your turn.

Does my pet die?

No. Nothing ever dies. Leave one alone for weeks and it wanders off. Pets keep growing while you are away, and they get hungry, cold and a little sad if left alone for a long time, so a visit is always welcome.

What devices does it run on?

RiftPets runs in a web browser, so there is nothing to install. The first version is laid out for desktop computers. Your account and game save live in the cloud, so you can sign in from another computer, and phone play is planned to follow.

What is a hybrid?

A hybrid is a new creature made by two animals blended into one, like Fanphant (elephant and peacock) or Cobracat (cat and cobra). Two adult pets who become good friends can have an egg together, and you get to find out what hatches. Every creature is an original, so no two hybrids feel like anything you have seen before.
