Hootail is a night owl in the truest sense. Daytime is for napping in the blanket. When the lights go down it comes alive, fluffing that enormous tail and stashing treats in places it will absolutely forget. It is curious, sleepy and a little sneaky, and it looks very proud of every scheme.

In the game: every Hootail hatches as a baby with a pacifier face, becomes a teenager on day two and an adult on day three, about 48 hours in all. Care is bonus growth. Play, feed, warm and nap with your Hootail and a stage can shrink from 24 hours to about 4. Hands off is fine too, because pets keep growing while you are away. Once two adults become friends and the friendship meter reaches 75 percent, the mating pen opens. A couple of hours later there is an egg. Nap time matters here: a finished nap is one of the care goals that helps a pet grow, and napping together helps friendships too.
